The Darkside

Of Duff

My Name Is Chris Dufficy and I Am A Retired Professional Snowboarder. I Fight Depression Stemming From Brain Injuries, Side Effects From Seizure Medication, and Trying To Find My Identity After My Career Ended. People See Bruises, Scars, And Stitches, but when Injuries are hidden (Mental & Emotional) they are often overlooked and misunderstood.

Everyone Has A Dark Side: Welcome To Mine

People have always perceieved me as a Happy, Optimistic, Positive person. When you hear my name I guarantee people associate it with a Smile. However, A Smile can mask almost anything. For over a decade I have battled Depression and finally feel the need to Share My Story, My Experiences, And My Dark Side. I’m embarking on a journey to explore my own Mind for answers to the Problems and Difficulities I face, While revealing a personal side of my life to connect with others. I am not a Therapist, nor am I trying to be one. This is a starting point to encourage Men to prioritize their Mental Health, Open Up, and recognize that expressing themselves is perfectly normal.

“I’ve known Chris since we were teens, we were both trying to make it to the big time in the snowboard world, that journey is what first connected us. I was lucky enough to travel and spend that time with Duff at that age on the road, filming and competing together as we grew and progressed as riders and as people. I always loved and respected Chris’s style, drive and attitude on and off snow, it’s contagious, oh and that big smile!”
